In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2016
Inhabitat Tour 2016/17
After 10 years of work experience with some of the most acknowledged architects of the world (Foster and Partners, Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners, Massimiliano Fuksas) I am dedicating this year to an extended research project of world cultures and their sustainable and most outstanding inhabitats.
It's a subject that long fascinated me with books by Ken Yeang (Green Skyscraper) and Stefan Behling (Sol Power) being a strong inspiration during my study time many years ago. Of course today there is plenty more books about the subjects of sustainability and green architecture, but it is not always easy to implement these ideas into practice.
My project aims to explore the possibilities of sustainable 'green' designs on the background of different cultures and climates and to put this into practice in several projects around the world.
The aspiration of the research is to define an architectural approach that is joyful and inspiring, a healthy space for the users, flooded with natural daylight, fresh air and links to vegetation, while considerate of it's environment and social significance.
I am looking forward to this year of travels, research and project work, the people I will meet and I like to thank in advance everyone who participates.
